Description

A combined high opacity primer and undercoat for use with Little Greene Eggshell and Gloss paints, both
Acrylic and Oil-based. Based on Zinc Phosphate anti-corrosive pigment and high quality alkyd resin it
provides the ideal surface for decoration of wood or metal.

Surfaces

Softwoods, non-oily hardwood, iron and steel, non-ferrous metals and pretreated galvanised metal. Can
also be used as a sealer on old plaster and cementitious surfaces.

Pack Sizes	2.5 litres, 1 litre

Colour Range	White and 17 colours to suit the Little Greene Colour Range

Spreading Rate	Up to 12 square metres per litre on smooth flat surfaces. Typically 10 square metres per litre on uncoated softwoods.

Drying Rate	Normally touch dry in 2-4 hours. Recoatable after overnight drying.

Environment	Manufactured to BS EN ISO 14001:2004 standards VOC content Medium (25%) Complies with European Commission VOC Directive 2004/42/CE

Specific Gravity	1.34-1.48 depending on colour

Dry film Thickness	40-45 microns per coat on smooth, sealed surfaces

Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material, dirt, grease etc. Repairs should be
carried out prior to painting. Areas contaminated with fungal or algal growth should be treated with a
proprietary fungicidal wash or with 25% household bleach before painting. Surfaces previously treated
with gloss paint should be lightly abraded before painting.

Application

Stir well before use. May be applied without thinning by brush, roller or airless spray. For use as a
Wood Primer, thinning 5% with White Spirit is recommended. As a sealer on plaster surfaces thinning
10% with White Spirit may be required. Apply 1 or 2 coats as required.

Clean up

Equipment should be cleaned with white spirit immediately after use.

Precautions

Always read the can label before use. Ensure maximum ventilation during application and drying. Do
not apply below 5°C – drying will be slower at lower temperatures.
